Drama Mask Activity

Cary Visual Art invites you to visit “Overture” at Regency Park
How to make your own mask.

Materials you'll need:
  • mask picture
  • crayons, pencils, or markers
  • scissors
  • glue
  • popsicle stick/tongue depressor

Instructions:
1. Decorate the mask using crayons, pencils, or markers. You may also want to glue feathers or other items to the mask.
2. Cut the mask out along the outside edge.
3. Glue a popsicle stick or tongue depressor to the back of the mask and use as a handle.

The Drama Mask Activity is based on the “Overture” gates by artist Jim Gallucci (see a picture below). Cary Visual Art commissioned Mr. Gallucci to create the artwork. Be sure to visit the Amphitheatre at Regency Park and see the gates in person.

Driving Directions to Regency Park and "Overture":  Take US 1 & 64 South to Tryon Road Exit 98A. Turn right onto Regency Parkway off of Tryon Road in Cary. Follow Regency Parkway and veer right at the fork in the road. Park in the Sterling office development lot on the left. The main entrance to the amphitheatre will be on your left.
