Spring 2018: A Public Art Installation in West Cary.

Artist Christine Bourdette is commissioned to create beautiful interactive sculptures for Carpenter Park. Placed along the north, east and west west sides, the sculptures will be an inviting icon for all to enjoy.

The natural setting of Carpenter Park, the pond, gardens and adjacent farms inspired the concept.  Inhabiting parks and lakes, their elegant presence connects imagination and nature. The transformation of "Ugly Duckling" into grace and beauty represents re-invention, renewal and growth.  Mirroring transformation of a new West Cary as we enter the Spring season of re-growth, the swan concept came to life.

Each form surrounds an elliptical free-standing seat nestled inside folded wings. The arch of the swan’s neck is 6’3” high with clearance for children and adults.

CVA is raising funds this year to complete this very special installation for Cary Citizens.  Our goal with your help is One Hundred Hundreds!
