Susan Alexander - Board President   Susan Alexander is a Cary native whose family has been involved in the Cary community for generations.    She is a retired pharmacist but has spent the majority of her adult years taking care of her family.  She believes in the importance of serving her community and others and has participated on a number of board of directors in an effort to contribute to worthwhile local organizations such as the Lucy Daniels Center, Cary Debutante Society and Meals on Wheels.  Susan is passionate about helping make Cary the greatest town in North Carolina. Public art is just one of the ways we can showcase our town and encourage visitors to see what makes Cary special.

  Geraud Staton - Vice President   Geraud is the executive director or the Helius Foundation. Helius provides coaching and training for small businesses, primarily necessity-driven entrepreneurs. The organization helps small businesses put together their business and strategic plans, seek out financing through microloans, and helps link small business owners with mentors throughout the community. Geraud believes whole-heartedly in Helius’s vision: “We see a Durham where everyone has the capability to support themselves and their families with dignity, in the face of racial, educational and financial inequality.”  Prior to working for Helius, Geraud was the executive director of Bull City Forward, an organization that worked with social entrepreneurs throughout Durham. He is an actor and an award-winning portrait painter.   Geraud served in the US Air Force during Operation: Desert Storm and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the business school at NC Central University.

  Dan Campbell - Board Member, Public Art Chair   Dan Campbell is a board member and chair of the Public Art Committee.  He is a local professional artist who creates colorful contemporary paintings.  His style reflects a blend of impressionism and semi-abstraction. He has a wide range of subject matter including figurative, landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, wildlife, music and sports. His medium is  original acrylic / oil paintings.  he collaborates with clients on commissioned art.  Dan’s textured and bold palette knife technique coupled with soft brushwork “blurring the lines of reality” is his trademark.  Dan experienced an epiphany and radical personal renaissance in 2013, realizing his professional life needed a renovation. “It was as if the light came on and everything was clear, I needed to seek that which would satisfy a passion I’ve had since I was a young boy”, says Dan.  After a 30 year career in marketing and business, most notably in the health and sports club industry, Dan jumped into creating art full time, with both feet.   Dan is now represented in galleries in Wilmington NC, Hilton Head, SC and several retail locations in the Triangle area.  He is a well-known artist and appears regularly at local art festivals. He was the featured artist at a 2016 Gala at the North Carolina Museum of Art.

Susie is a contemporary painter working out of a studio in her home. She is currently in her fifteenth year as a Visual Art teacher at Cary High School. She earned her National Board teaching certification in 2010. Susie also owns and operates Red Bird Goods and Locally Made Market. Susie currently resides in Cary, North Carolina with her spouse and three year old son.
